Self Worth, Self Confidence and the Difference

In trying to understand where and how I can continue to improve, I’ve been exploring the concepts of self-worth and self-confidence. While often used interchangeably, these traits play distinct roles in our personal and professional lives.

Self-worth is the deep-seated belief in one’s inherent value and worthiness, regardless of external validation or achievements. It forms the foundation of our self-esteem and shapes how we perceive ourselves.

They’re both indispensable. When we cultivate a strong sense of self-worth, we become less reliant on external validation. This inner validation empowers us to pursue our aspirations boldly, irrespective of setbacks or criticism. With self-confidence, we harness our skills and expertise to take decisive action. It enables us to step out of our comfort zones, seize opportunities, and overcome obstacles with resilience.
